We’ve been busy over the last weeks and months getting ready for Print ’17. CrawfordTech will be at booth 454, where we’ll be discussing and demonstrating a number of new products and features, so if you’re planning on attending, be sure to stop by.

Although we provide a range of solutions for output management, enterprise content management, document accessibility, and archiving, the over-arching theme of our product focus at Print can be summarized in one word – productivity. Service providers and organizations of every size and in all markets are constantly looking for ways to be more productive. After all, automating processes, reducing errors and meeting ever demanding customer requirements drives profitability and success.

Workflow automation has been a big topic at Print and Graph Expo for many years. But consider how the discussion has changed! Twenty years ago it was all about being more efficient in producing print output, primarily on offset presses. Now it’s about print, often produced on digital presses, as a still vital communication channel, created in conjunction with multiple digital formats. Providing accessible documents for the growing population of blind and partially sighted individuals in order to be in compliance with evolving regulations is another reality that many providers know is important. And the additional demands and requirements of transactional documents in terms of volume, throughput, security, and formats means that both hardware and software vendors must pro-actively respond with effective and efficient solutions.

Crawford Technologies has been able to build on our existing robust technology in creating innovative new products and capabilities targeted for this demanding market. Here’s a summary of what we’ll be talking about and demo’ing at Print ’17 next week:

Manage Customer Communication Preferences

We all know that customers want documents delivered in the format of their choice, and that these preferences are becoming increasingly granular. Your customer might want one document printed and mailed, while requesting another one to be emailed. Blind and partially sighted customers will require an accessible format, but they don’t all prefer the same format. With PRO Preference Manager you can automate managing and delivering communications in the format each one of your customers prefers.

Turbo Charge Your Workflow

With the speed of today’s presses, sometimes a workflow bottleneck is not in the pre-press or printing process, but in post-production. TurboFlow addresses this by automating post composition processes, allowing changes to be made to individual document pages up to five times faster than other solutions.

Additional Security for Output

Many organizations send output files to an in-plant facility or to an external provider. These files contain confidential personal information, so how can you ensure security? With PRO Lockdown, it’s easy to encrypt each page of your output, adding an additional layer of security, and meeting the requirements of regulations such as PCI, HIPAA and GDPR.

Optimize Document Output
Dealing with holds and pulls can be one of the most challenging aspects of production. Locating a document that might sit in the middle of a print run, but for some reason can’t be sent to the recipient, is typically a time-consuming manual process. With Review and Release, you can easily remove documents from a print file before outputting, saving time and money, and ensuring that what you send to customers is accurate.

Automate and Gain Visibility into Your Workflow

Workflow automation needs to be flexible and scalable so that it can fit into any environment, and support the multiple hardware and software products already in place. Having a real-time view of production processes is equally important to manage your workflow and be on top of any issues that come up. With PRO Conductor, powered by Alchem-e, you can orchestrate and control multiple workflows. The modular architecture allows it to be easily customized for specific production requirements, and the powerful web based dashboard provides real-time status of work in progress, ensuring both accuracy and efficiency.

These new tools address a range of production requirements, and can work in conjunction with other CrawfordTech products as well as third party products. We’ll also be talking about our award winning solutions for document accessibility, automated quality assurance, print stream transforms, and enterprise content management.
