Crawford Technologies is pleased to announce the general availability of its newest update to its core transformation and workflow solutions – Core v4.5. Continuing our biannual cadence in releasing new versions of our core software suite, this latest release, Version 4.5, is available now for all current CrawfordTech core customers.
In every CrawfordTech Software release, we strive to provide our customers with brand new features in addition to customer requested improvements and performance enhancements. Some highlights in Core v4.5 include:
PRO Designer Functions
PRO Designer is our interactive GUI for managing document business rules and manually tagging document templates for accessible output. As users continue to rely on this interface for managing post-composition business rules, we continue to accommodate their needs for improved usability and performance.
This latest build of PRO Designer makes it easier to tag documents for accessible output. For example, necessary ICF and INI parameters are now automatically added to Accessible PDF (PDF/UA or WCAG 2.0) projects giving users a head start for manual remediation of documents. Other accessibility user features include being able to show or hide X/Y co-ordinates for accessible PDF as well as support for large Alt-text descriptions.
In addition to accessibility support, PRO Designer now features expansion of wizards for additional functionality, such as listlabelcolumn and document properties. We have also added a test tab for regular FAPA ICF commands and a new document properties wizard.
Additional feature updates for PRO Designer can be found in the release notes.
Inkjet Support and IJPDS
Inkjet print support is still trending in our industry, as seen after a successful exhibition at the 2017 Inkjet Summit. To support the growing reliance on high-speed inkjet technology within our installed base, we have added a few new features to Core v4.5, including enhanced support for IJPDS. One key IJPDS improvement is the added support for multiple RIPs without object clipping per ink. We have also made improvements that help to simplify the print head configuration for Inkjet print applications.
Accessible Output for All Communications
Two new, exciting optional product extensions were key components of the Core 4.5 development effort. Crawford Technologies’ MasterONE architecture has been extended to support the capability to transform any print stream into Accessible HTML5. Additionally, the newly launched Auto Tagger for Accessibility, which automatically converts – in real-time – source PDF documents to Accessible PDF or Accessible HTML5 tagged formats, is truly game changing technology for those who are blind or partially sighted, as now their vendors and suppliers can more easily provide them with the information that they need in their preferred format.
CrawfordTech’s Core solution offerings will continue to evolve with new features every six months. Over 60% of the changes and improvements in Core 4.5 were suggested to us by our customers. We encourage you to submit any feature requests or ideas to spieruccini@crawfordtech.com or contact your sales representative directly so we can continue to provide you with the best solutions possible.
In addition to the release notes which are distributed to our user base, we invite you to join us for a customer only webinar to hear about these new features and more. Register here for one of the following events. We look forward to sharing our new release with you!
